Following 18 new ratifications on Monday, UN chief Guterres said on Tuesday the High Seas Treaty is "within sight" of taking effect.
He warned of a 'hard battle' against 'greed', which denies science to oppose the pact.

Russia has launched a scathing attack on UN Secretary-General António Guterres, accusing him of political bias and acting as a mouthpiece for NATO and the “criminal Kyiv regime.” Moscow condemned Guterres' recent comments on alleged Russian missile and drone strikes that supposedly caused a power outage at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.
