Russian forces are making fresh advances in the war, capturing the villages of Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region. This marks the first reported seizure of settlements in central-eastern Ukraine after months of attempted breakthroughs. The two villages sit at the crossroads of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, giving them major strategic importance.
