Waqf Act: SP moves Supreme Court against new law, says it 'discriminates against Muslims'

The Samajwadi Party has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Waqf Amendment Bill, 2025, joining over 10 other petitioners, including Congress, AIMIM, and Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind. They argue the Act discriminates against Muslims. The Centre has submitted a caveat seeking to be heard. Hearings are expected around April 15.
