Apex court lifts HC stay on West Bengal OBC list

The Supreme Court has overturned the Calcutta High Court's stay on West Bengal's revised OBC sub-group list, which includes 80 Muslim sub-groups. The court emphasized that the Executive branch can notify such lists without needing legislation, citing a previous nine-judge bench ruling. The High Court's stay was deemed erroneous, and the case may be reassigned to a special bench for review.
