Monsoon set to arrive early and simultaneously over Kerala, northeast

The monsoon is expected to arrive simultaneously in Kerala and some northeastern states, an uncommon occurrence predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) due to Cyclone Remal in the Bay of Bengal. Normally, the monsoon reaches Kerala by June 1 and the Northeast a few days later. The heatwave conditions in northwest and central India are expected to ease from Thursday due to western disturbances.
