Southwest monsoon likely to hit Kerala by May 31: IMD

According to the India Meteorological Department's announcement on Wednesday, there's a high probability that the southwest monsoon will make its onset over Kerala on May 31, with a margin of error of four days. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, the director general of the IMD, pointed out that this forecast closely matches the usual monsoon onset date for Kerala, typically observed around June 1st.
