BREAKING: Houthis Pick New PM As All-Out Israel-Yemen War breaks Out | Who Is Mohammed Muftah?

Yemeni President Mahdi Al-Mashat has appointed Mohammed Ahmed Ahmed Muftah, the First Deputy Prime Minister, as acting head of government after Prime Minister Ahmed Al-Rahawi was confirmed killed in an Israeli airstrike on Sana’a.

State TV announced Al-Rahawi’s “martyrdom” alongside several ministers during what officials described as a government workshop targeted by Israel.

The strike, one of the deadliest against Yemen’s leadership, has left the Houthis scrambling to reorganize as they vow continued missile and drone strikes against Israel and Western vessels in the Red Sea.

Muftah, previously Al-Rahawi’s deputy, is now tasked with steering Yemen’s wartime government through its gravest crisis yet.

His appointment comes as Israel intensifies strikes on Yemen in retaliation for Houthi operations in support of Palestinians.

The dramatic leadership change raises questions about Muftah’s ability to fill Al-Rahawi’s shoes and direct Houthi strategy amid an escalating regional conflict.
