A major disaster has struck Baltimore Harbour again as the W-Sapphire cargo ship burst into flames near the Francis Scott Key Bridge reconstruction zone.

Loaded with coal, the vessel erupted into a massive fireball, sending thick black smoke across the Patapsco River.

Coast Guard and Baltimore City Fire Department rushed to control the blaze.

Fortunately, all 23 crew members and two pilots are safe.

This incident comes less than a year after the Key Bridge collapse that claimed six lives.
