Trump Slaps EU With 15% Tariff Deal — “Better? No.” | Ursula Forced to Smile, U.S Refuses Any Relief
U.S President Trump refused to lower tariffs for the European Union, finalizing a major trade deal that locks in a flat 15% duty on most EU imports.
When asked if he could offer a “better” rate, Trump snapped: “Better?
Meaning lower?
No.”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was forced to smile through the awkward moment, securing zero tariff relief despite a last-minute scramble to strike a deal at Trump’s Turnberry resort in Scotland.
The EU, in return, agreed to $750 billion in U.S. energy purchases—but walked away with no concessions, no exemptions, and plenty of political pressure at home.
Was this a win for stability or a one-sided surrender?

Mid-air panic struck an EasyJet flight from London Luton to Glasgow when a man screamed, “I’m going to bomb the plane,” triggering alarm among passengers. He was also heard yelling, “Death to America, death to Trump,” and “Allahu Akbar.” The shocking outburst was captured on video, now viral on social media. A male passenger quickly subdued the suspect before police arrested the 41-year-old upon landing in Glasgow.
He remains in custody as counter-terrorism units examine the footage. Scotland Police confirmed investigations are ongoing. The airline, however, maintained that the safety of the passengers and flight was never compromised. Interestingly, the incident occurred just as former U.S. President Donald Trump was in Scotland finalizing a major trade deal with EU chief Ursula von der Leyen. The timing and nature of the incident have raised security concerns as authorities dig deeper into the suspect’s motivations and background.

On Russia’s Navy Day, Ukrainian drones rained over St. Petersburg, forcing the cancellation of a key naval parade and halting flights at Pulkovo Airport. Russia’s Defense Ministry claims it downed 291 drones. Meanwhile, Moscow retaliated with strikes on Kyiv, wounding civilians and damaging homes. In Sumy, a Russian drone hit a civilian bus, killing 3. As the war enters its 1250th day, tensions rise beyond the battlefield, with EU leaders urging Zelensky to preserve anti-corruption reforms and Austria signaling interest in joining NATO.

U.S President Donald Trump publicly humiliated European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during a high-stakes trade announcement in Scotland. From mocking wind power — “Windmills are a scam!” — to refusing any EU tariff relief, Trump dominated the press conference, calling out Ursula for “not taking notes” and blasting the EU’s climate and immigration failures.
Despite the EU’s hopes for a softer deal, Trump slammed them with a 15% tariff, compared their policies to “a con job,” and left Ursula visibly stunned. With no concessions secured, the EU leader stood by awkwardly as Trump delivered blow after blow in front of a global audience.

In a fiery and wide-ranging press conference from Prestwick, Scotland, U.S. President Donald Trump touched on everything from UK trade deals and EU negotiations to the Gaza crisis, Epstein allegations, illegal immigration, and wind energy. Trump confirmed meetings with the UK Prime Minister and EU leaders, calling the UK trade pact a “celebration.” He praised Ursula von der Leyen, dismissed France's recognition of Palestine, and condemned Hamas while vowing support for Israel.
He brushed off any links to the Epstein files and defended his associate Todd Blanche’s interview with Ghislaine Maxwell. Trump fiercely criticized Europe’s windmill projects and issued a grave warning about illegal immigration, claiming “you won’t have Europe anymore.” He also touted “six of the best months in presidency history.” As always, Trump didn’t hold back—sparking new waves of political reaction across Europe and the U.S.

With international students at risk and Harvard’s finances strained, America’s richest university finds itself at the center of a high-stakes political battle.

In a fiery press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shut down claims about a shift in U.S. weapons supply to Ukraine, calling it “fake news.” Leavitt clarified that a recent Pentagon assessment was a routine global audit of U.S. military aid, not a pullback. “This was standard policy — not specific to Ukraine,” she said. Leavitt then turned to the Middle East, stating the Trump administration’s top priority is ending the Gaza war and securing the release of hostages. She confirmed that Israel had approved a ceasefire deal, which has now been sent to Hamas for approval. The press secretary expressed hope that Hamas would agree to the proposal, indicating that the U.S. is pressing for diplomatic resolution in the region. The dual clarification on Ukraine and Gaza reveals the administration’s efforts to quell disinformation and manage multiple crises on the global stage.

The EU-China summit in Beijing ended early as tensions soared over China's deepening alliance with Russia amid the Ukraine war. Despite efforts to focus on trade, climate change, and rare earth supply cooperation, the shadow of Moscow loomed large. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that Beijing's refusal to distance itself from Russia is now the main stumbling block in EU-China relations.
Chinese President Xi Jinping countered with calls for multipolar cooperation and downplayed Western concerns. While there was some progress on rare earth mineral exports and climate action, trade imbalances and mutual investigations remain flashpoints. The summit reflected a growing unease in Europe over China’s geopolitical positioning and its reluctance to leverage influence over Russia. Despite efforts to build trust, Brussels made it clear: Beijing’s stance on Ukraine will define the future of their relations. Dialogue continues, but the cracks are widening as global fault lines deepen.
