The government has announced a public inquiry into the Battle of Orgreave - one of the worst days of violence during the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike.
Campaigners have long fought for an investigation into South Yorkshire Police’s actions during and after the clashes at the Orgreave Coking Plant in June 1984.

Essex Police has denied claims it "bussed" counter-protesters to a demonstration outside a hotel housing asylum seekers last week. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Chief Constablel of Essex, Ben-Julian Harrington said: "What has been unacceptable has been the people who have come to Epping and committed violence."

Sir James Cleverly has returned to the Conservative frontbench as Kemi Badenoch announced changes to her shadow cabinet. The Minister for Legal Migration has admitted she is "concerned" about rising tensions in communities amid ongoing protests. It comes as eight police officers were injured following a demonstration in Epping last Thursday.
