Alabama Officials Confirm 40 Arrested In ICE Operations In Alabama
Officials with the Alabama & Georgia division of HSIS, a part of ICE, say job site immigration enforcement has been “very successful.... Anyone that employs illegal aliens, we’ll be coming,” P.J.
Lavoie, assistant special agent in charge of Alabama’s HSI division, said.
That’s the message from Lavoie after the arrest of 36 undocumented immigrants at a construction site of a high school in Gulf Shores.
Lavoie’s superior, Steven Schrank, says that wasn’t the first time it’s happened in Alabama.
He says raids happened under the previous administration, just less frequently, and on a smaller scale.
And they certainly did not garner this kind of attention or draw the ire of so many.
