Germany has announced it will soon supply Ukraine with new long-range missile systems, but not the Taurus cruise missiles that Kyiv has long sought. Despite previous speculation, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that Taurus missiles—capable of striking targets up to 500 km away—will not be sent. Instead, Germany is providing Patriot air defense systems purchased from the U.S. Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that diplomatic avenues with Russia are "exhausted" and vowed to counter what he called a “criminal regime.”

Tributes are being paid in Minehead to a child who was killed in a coach crash which left several others seriously injured.
Flowers have been left at the entrance to Minehead Middle School following the crash, which happened while the coach was carrying children back from a day trip to Exmoor Zoo.
