In a harrowing attack early Thursday morning, a Ukrainian drone crashed into a residential high-rise in Voronezh, southern Russia, injuring at least three children and displacing multiple families.
Russian officials confirmed that air defenses intercepted five UAVs, but one struck the 16th floor of a building on Aivazovsky Street, causing a large explosion, property damage, and panic among residents.
Two boys, born in 2009 and 2013, were hospitalized with head injuries, while a girl sustained cuts and was treated at the scene.
Photos and videos of the aftermath—smoke, shattered windows, crushed vehicles—flooded Russian social media.
This is the second drone attack on Voronezh in just three days.
Tuesday’s larger strike injured 24 civilians, including four children.
