Insight Production Mercedes-Benz CLA Battery at Accumotive Kamenz

With the series production of the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz drive batteries for the all-electric CLA, the Mercedes-Benz subsidiary ACCUMOTIVE in Kamenz is setting a major milestone.

Since production began in 2012, the company has established itself as a center of excellence in the global Mercedes-Benz production network.

More than two million batteries have rolled off the production line since then.

Since this year, ACCUMOTIVE in Kamenz has been supplying the Rastatt plant, where the new electric CLA will initially roll off the production line, with the new battery generation.

The electric drive units and axles come from the Stuttgart-Untertürkheim plant, and bodyshell components, structural and body parts come from Kuppenheim.

From 2026, ACCUMOTIVE will also expand its production portfolio to include the reconditioning of used batteries, thus underpinning the company's sustainable business strategy in the field of circular economy.
