Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that Moscow continues scientific cooperation with Western experts despite heavy sanctions and political isolation. Speaking in Sarov, Russia’s nuclear hub, Putin insisted that science, like art and sports, cannot be destroyed by politics. He revealed that joint projects persist in nuclear, space, and medical research, even with some NATO states, while new ventures in nuclear medicine are emerging. According to Putin, Russia lost Finland as a partner but continues work with France, Germany, and Hungary through Rosatom. He stressed that Russia still supplies nuclear fuel and services to “unfriendly” countries, hinting that departing partners may eventually return. Putin also warned the West that restricting academic and scientific ties will inflict long-term damage.
