In a dramatic escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war, Ukrainian forces have reportedly flattened a 5-storey apartment building in Russian-occupied Kherson using precision drone strikes.
According to local sources and military footage, the building—believed to be housing Russian troops or military command elements—was completely destroyed in a targeted aerial assault.
Russia has launched over 100 drones and missiles in a coordinated overnight assault across Ukraine — striking major cities including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and more. At least 12 people were killed, including civilians in Sumy, Odesa, and Kherson, and 69 others injured, with three children among the wounded.
President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that over 1,200 drones have been fired at Ukraine in the past 7 days, calling on international partners to urgently deliver air defense systems. On July 6, Russian forces launched a calculated drone strike on a military enlistment and recruitment office in Kremenchuk, located in Ukraine's Poltava region. This attack came just hours after Russia conducted one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine, involving 157 drones and four S-300 missiles that targeted key regions including Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv, causing significant damage and casualties.
Ukraine's Ground Forces have confirmed that the UAV strike in Kremenchuk hit the recruitment center and also damaged a nearby residential building. Russia has launched its largest aerial attack on Ukraine since the war began, according to Ukrainian officials. Overnight, a staggering 537 aerial weapons — including 477 drones and decoys, and 60 missiles — were fired at targets across Ukraine.

Russia has confirmed the burial of Colonel Sergei Ilyin, commander of the 155th Marine Brigade, days after reports emerged of a Ukrainian HIMARS strike that allegedly killed him along with 21 others at a command post in Kursk Oblast.
