Actor Julian McMahon dies at 56.

The Australian actor known for his roles on shows such as Charmed , Nip/Tuck and in the film Fantastic Four has passed away after a private battle with cancer.

His wife, Kelly McMahon confirmed his death on July 2.

'With an open heart,' Kelly said in a statement to NBC News July 4, 'I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.'

His ex-wife, Brooke Burns also expressed her grief on Instagram, posting a picture of McMahon with their 25-year-old daughter, Madison.
