Turkey Wildfires Kill 2 As ‘Children Of Fire’ Claims Arson In 6 Cities, PKK Links Spark Fears

Turkey is battling deadly wildfires across multiple provinces, with two fatalities confirmed and over 200 homes destroyed.

The blazes, burning for seven straight days, have taken a sinister turn after a group calling itself “Children of Fire” claimed responsibility for coordinated arson attacks in six cities.

The group, allegedly linked to the banned Kurdish militant organization PKK, says it started the fires as part of a political campaign.

The PKK has not commented on the claim.

Firefighting operations continue near major cities like Izmir, Antalya, and Istanbul, with support from helicopters and aircraft.

Roads near popular resort town Çeşme have been closed, and hundreds have been evacuated.

As emergency services struggle to contain the flames, Turkey now faces a national security scare amid environmental devastation.

The interior ministry has launched investigations into the arson claims while warning that further attacks may be imminent as the dry summer season continues.

Trump Asks Syria to JOIN Abraham Accords, Offers Sanctions Relief | Big Push For Syria-Israel Ties

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, President Trump met with Syria’s new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, marking the first such meeting in 25 years. Trump urged Syria to join the Abraham Accords with Israel, expel foreign militants, and take control of ISIS camps run by Kurdish forces. In return, Trump announced the lifting of crippling U.S. sanctions, offering Syria a chance at economic recovery. The Syrian foreign ministry hailed the meeting as "historic," though the normalization with Israel was not addressed.
