A suicide bomber detonated himself inside the Mar Elias Church in Damascus' Dweila neighborhood during Sunday mass, following a burst of gunfire that sent worshippers into panic. Witnesses report a gunman opened fire on civilians before entering the church and triggering the deadly blast. The attack left bodies and debris scattered across the holy site, as smoke rose and residents fled in terror. No group has claimed responsibility yet. The incident comes amid rising regional tensions, especially between Iran and Israel, fueling fears of a new wave of religiously motivated violence in Syria.
