Shocking video footage captures the terrifying moment an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, operating as Flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London, crashed just minutes after takeoff on Thursday afternoon.

The aircraft, carrying 242 people — including 230 passengers and 12 crew members — plunged near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport shortly after its 1:10 PM IST departure.

Thick black smoke billowed from the crash site as emergency services rushed to respond.

Flight tracking data showed the last signal from the plane (VT-ANB) was received at 1:38 PM IST, suggesting the crash occurred almost immediately after liftoff.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the tragic accident.
