Christopher Landon, who was originally set to direct 'Scream 7,' is setting the record straight; he says he did not fire Melissa Barrera from the film.
Landon spoke about what happened after Barrera was dropped from 'Scream 7' in November 2023 because of her posts about the Israel-Hamas war on social media.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Landon recalled receiving a phone call from Spyglass Media Group, the production company behind the movie, telling him the news that she was let go.
He remembers everything "came tumbling down in an instant."
Jenna Ortega is addressing why she left the 'Scream' franchise amid the firing of her co-star Melissa Barrera. 'The Death of a Unicorn' star reflected on leaving the rebooted 'Scream' franchise, in which she and Barrera starred as the Carpenter sisters, in a cover story for The Cut.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas launched a furious tirade against Hamas in a dramatic public appearance, calling members of the group “you sons of dogs” and demanding they immediately release all hostages or face severe consequences. The rare outburst, captured on video, underscores the deepening rift between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas amid growing international and internal pressure to end the Gaza crisis. Abbas, visibly angry, accused Hamas of dragging the Palestinian people into chaos and warned that time was running out for negotiations.
