Abuse continued in Army after Beck's death, friend says

A friend of Jaysley Beck has said sexual abuse in the Army is still going on years after the former Royal Artillery gunner's death.

The body of the 19-year-old was found in a locker room at Wiltshire's Larkhill Camp in 2021.

She had been subjected to relentless harassment from her line manager, Bombardier Ryan Mason, an inquest was told.

Beck had also filed a complaint against Battery Sergeant Major Michael Webber who "pinned her down" and tried to kiss her at a work social.

Former soldier Tamzin Hort compared being a woman in the Army to being "a piece of meat in a tank of sharks" and that "people get sexually assaulted left, right and centre, but nothing's done about it".

Trump’s $45M Army Parade Overshadowed, Protesters Outnumber Attendees | “No Kings” Chants Echo in US

President Trump’s highly anticipated 250th Army anniversary parade in Washington D.C. was meant to be a patriotic spectacle—but it fell flat. Despite tanks, military flyovers, and millions spent, the streets were shockingly under-attended. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of anti-Trump protesters flooded cities across the U.S., chanting “No Kings” and calling for his ouster. The contrast was jarring: as Trump delivered a brief 8-minute speech calling the U.S. “the hottest country,” political violence rocked Minnesota and national tensions surged. Heathrow has submitted its latest plans for a third runway at Europe’s busiest airport. The total cost, including new terminals and infrastructure, will be £49 billion pounds. The airport says expansion will create up to 40,000 new jobs and add 0.43% to the UK’s GDP by 2050. However, the plans will face fierce opposition from locals, politicians and climate campaigners.
