Gang who used Grindr to trap and rob victims jailed
Five men who trapped their victims through the dating app Grindr have been jailed after being convicted of a series of violent robberies.
Demalji Hadza (21), Abubaker Alezawy (21), Ali Hassan (20), Wasim Omar (24), and Mohammed Sharif (22) have been jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for a combined 78 years and seven months.
Solicitor Jonathan Bridge said many grooming gang victims doubt a new inquiry will help. He said previous investigations exposed failures by councils and police. Instead, he said that victims want therapy, compensation and accountability, not more inquiries, adding that most have “never asked” for a public inquiry. Report by Covellm.
