Manipur Violence: CM Biren Singh caps 2024 with an apology: ‘I Feel Regret, I am Sorry…’

Biren Singh closed out 2024 with an emotional apology for the violent ethnic clashes that have ravaged the northeastern state since May 2023.

In a heartfelt statement, Singh expressed deep regret, acknowledging the immense suffering caused by the ongoing conflict.

He conveyed his apologies to the people of Manipur, recognizing the loss of lives, displacement of families, and the disruption of daily life that has followed the violent upheaval between the Meitei and Kuki communities.

Despite the hardships of the past year, the Chief Minister offered a message of hope, expressing optimism for the restoration of normalcy in 2025.
