The Maharashtra Assembly elections once again spotlighted the opposition’s habit of blaming EVMs when results don’t favor them.
In Solapur's Markadwadi village, NCP(SP) supporters, upset over BJP’s Ram Satpute leading locally despite Uttamrao Jankar’s overall win, planned an illegal ballot “re-election.” Authorities rightly shut it down, calling it anti-democratic.
Ironically, EVMs—introduced by Congress—are now their scapegoat.
Locals dismissed the rhetoric, crediting Satpute’s development work, with one saying, “He earned his votes, no tampering needed.”
