Police in Amsterdam arrested some pro-Palestinian protesters and forcibly moved more than 260 to another location as they broke up an illegal demonstration in the Dutch capital's central Dam Square.

The Arab-mediated proposal, backed by Egypt and Qatar, reportedly included the release of Israeli hostages. But Israeli officials insist Hamas’ long-term intentions remain hostile. Hostage families criticized the government’s stance, calling it planless. With Israel resuming attacks on Gaza, the humanitarian crisis deepens. Over 51,000 Palestinians have died since October 7.
