Kuki Insurgents Killed in Bloody Clash After Attack on Meitei Farmer – Total Curfew in Manipur
Manipur is once again plunged into chaos as violence escalates between Kuki insurgents and security forces.
In a deadly encounter in Jiribam district, at least 11 suspected Kuki militants were shot dead by security forces after a violent attack on a Meitei farmer and a CRPF camp.
As the region reels from the bloodshed, Naga groups have condemned the attack and imposed an indefinite blockade.
In response, authorities have imposed a total curfew in an attempt to restore order.
With ethnic tensions running high, the situation in Manipur remains volatile, with ongoing clashes threatening the fragile peace in the region.
Manipur Violence : Tensions escalate in Manipur as security forces carry out extensive house-to-house raids in Imphal East and Kakching districts, seizing a massive cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives. The crackdown, aimed at flushing out armed suspects, has sparked violent protests in Kuki-dominated areas, leaving one protester dead and over 40 injured, including police personnel. The 6th edition of the India-Japan joint military exercise 'Dharma Guardian' is currently underway at the East Fuji Training Area in Japan.
