A man who threw a coffee cup at Reform UK leader and Clacton MP Nigel Farage during the General Election campaign has been given a suspended sentence.
Josh Greally, 28, from Derbyshire, was arrested in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, on 11 June after throwing what looked like a paper cup containing a liquid, and another object, at Mr Farage.
Reacting to the verdict on Wednesday, Mr Farage said: "Frankly, if a man can threaten me in that way and not get a custodial sentence, that doesn't give much deterrence to anyone else.
I am dissatisfied in the extreme."
