Russia Denies Recruiting Indians for Ukraine War, Vows to Repatriate Stranded Soldiers | Details
Russia has officially denied claims that it has been recruiting Indian citizens to fight in the Ukraine war.
The Russian Embassy in New Delhi emphasized that it has not engaged in any fraudulent schemes or recruitment drives targeting Indians.
Instead, Moscow is working closely with New Delhi to repatriate Indian nationals who voluntarily joined the Russian military.
The embassy expressed condolences for the casualties among Indian soldiers and assured that Russia will honor all contractual obligations, including financial compensation.
The situation has come under scrutiny as human traffickers lured Indians into military service with false promises, prompting a significant diplomatic response from both countries.
US President Donald Trump has claimed Ukraine could be “crushed very shortly” unless it agrees to peace talks with Russia.
