Nepal Plane Crash Horror: Pilot Miraculously Survives Catastrophe That Killed 18 Passengers Onboard
In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a small plane belonging to Saurya Airlines crashed after skidding off the runway at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, resulting in the deaths of 18 out of 19 passengers on board.
The sole survivor of the crash was the plane's pilot, Captain Manish Ratna Shakya.
The aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ200 with the call sign 9N-AME/CRJ 200, was carrying two crew members and 17 technicians on a maintenance trip to Pokhara city.
The crash occurred at 11:11 am local time as the plane attempted to take off from the southern end of the runway.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the plane flip and strike the ground with its wing tip before catching fire.
Following the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir on April 22, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national, members of the Indian and Hindu communities around the world have taken to the streets in protest.
From Federation Square in Melbourne to the Pakistan High Commission in London, and from Copenhagen to the Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu, protesters are demanding justice and condemning the brutal act of terror. Voices of anger, pain, and unity are echoing globally, as the diaspora stands in solidarity with the victims and calls for action.
