The Bannu military cantonment in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, located over 330 km east of Islamabad, came under a severe attack early on Monday (July 15).
The assault, reportedly led by several suicide bombers, resulted in a prolonged gunbattle with security forces.
The militant group Jaish Fursan-e-Muhammad, a faction of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) led by Hafiz Gul Bahadur, claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to Pakistani state media, the incident began when the assailants attempted to breach the cantonment’s security perimeter with an explosive-laden vehicle.

NATO is stepping up its military backing of Ukraine as the Netherlands ships out its final batch of F-16 fighter jets — but the skies aren't safe. Ukraine has already confirmed the loss of three U.S.-made F-16s in combat. Despite mounting risks, Western nations continue their push to modernize Ukraine’s air force as part of the international fighter jet coalition. Denmark, Belgium, Norway, and the Netherlands are now actively arming Kyiv while transitioning to the F-35s themselves. Is NATO’s bet on air superiority paying off — or are these jets flying straight into danger?

On May 23, 2025, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath issued a fiery warning to Pakistan during a speech in Ayodhya, following the success of Op Sindoor. He invoked Lord Hanuman while stating that India never initiates conflict, but always retaliates with strength. Citing the killing of over 124 terrorists in a decisive Indian military response, Yogi said Pakistan is paying for nurturing terrorism. “Pakistan’s days are numbered,” he declared, holding Islamabad responsible for cross-border terror and vowing continued retaliation.

In a pointed diplomatic move, India has sent a strong message to Turkey, stating it expects Ankara to urge Pakistan to end cross-border terrorism. The statement reflects India’s frustration with Pakistan’s repeated violations and its expectation that global powers, including Turkey, hold Islamabad accountable. This bold message comes amid ongoing geopolitical shifts, underlining India’s firm foreign policy stance. It also signals New Delhi’s intent to challenge narratives that ignore the impact of terrorism on regional stability and security, particularly when perpetuated from across the border by state-backed actors.
