‘Crushing cost’: UK parents skip meals, forego heating to afford school uniforms - survey

A survey reveals that parents in England are facing difficulties in affording school uniforms. Many are using credit and buy-now-pay-later schemes. Some parents are even skipping meals to cover the costs. The government plans to limit branded uniform items by 2026. Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson urges schools to reduce branded items sooner.
