Hong Kong allows outspoken Cardinal Joseph Zen to attend Pope Francis' funeral
Thursday, 24 April 2025 () Cardinal Joseph Zen, a vocal critic of the Vatican's China policy, was permitted to leave Hong Kong to attend Pope Francis' funeral after a court granted him his passport back. Zen's passport was confiscated following his arrest under a national security law. Separately, Hong Kong Cardinal Stephen Chow will also travel to the Vatican for the conclave.
