New Zealand volcano owners' conviction over deadly eruption overturned
Friday, 28 February 2025 The owners of a New Zealand volcano island where 22 tourists and local guides died in an eruption have had their criminal conviction for failing to keep visitors safe thrown out by a judge.
The Duchess of Edinburgh attended a Thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey marking Anzac Day. The service was one of a string of events attended by Sophie, after she visited the Australian War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner early Friday morning. Sophie was representing King Charles III at the commemorations marking the sacrifices of Australian and New Zealand forces.
