Sphen the penguin, one half of renowned gay pair, dies

Sphen, a beloved gentoo penguin at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, passed away at 11, leaving his partner, Magic, and their foster chicks. Their same-sex relationship gained international attention, symbolizing inclusivity. Magic was given time with Sphen's body to mourn. The couple inspired global audiences and even featured in Sydneyβs Mardi Gras parade and educational curriculum.
