The hidden cost of unfunded fertility treatment

By any measure, the NHS is beyond breaking point and those on the front line simply can’t cope with demand. Cuts have to be made and no choice can be a good one. However, it seems that one condition has become an easy target; infertility. NHS Sussex's Integrated Care Board has just cut the number of IVF cycles available on the NHS from three to one. Whilst this is said to have brought Sussex in line with most other areas, it will leave couples, including same-sex couples, distraught and some on the brink of severe mental health crises.
