More often, we end up finding ourselves being surrounded by toxic frienemies-- which are generally people who pretend to be nice to us, but in reality they are either not good for us in the long run or badmouth us in our absence. While no one is perfect, some people consistently drain your energy, damage your confidence, or manipulate your emotions.
