Mercury levels in Delhi's air highest among 3 Indian cities studied, human activities blamed
Saturday, 6 September 2025 () A recent study by IITM reveals Delhi's air contains the highest mercury concentration among Indian cities, significantly exceeding global background levels. The study, spanning from 2018 to 2024, links the pollution to coal use, traffic, and industries. While Delhi's mercury levels are alarming, the research indicates a decline compared to previous years.
The BSF Bharat Darshan Tour 2025 concluded with a vibrant ceremony at the BSF Nizamuddin facility in Delhi, where 100 students and teachers from Mizoram celebrated their enriching journey across India. Organised by the Border Security Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the tour aimed to promote national integration, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of India’s heritage. The concluding session was graced by Hon’ble MoS Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai, who interacted with the students and praised BSF’s efforts in connecting border-state youth with the nation's historical and cultural legacy.
