20% ethanol blended petrol: SC dismisses PIL against nationwide rollout; Centre defends move

The Supreme Court has dismissed a PIL challenging the nationwide implementation of 20% ethanol-blended petrol (E20). The petition requested that ethanol-free petrol be made available and that ethanol content be clearly labelled at fuel stations. The plea argued that older vehicles and some BS-VI models are not compatible with high ethanol blends, potentially causing damage and higher repair costs.
