Forces manually drain out temporary lake in Harsil

Following a cloudburst-triggered landslide that blocked the Bhagirathi river near Dharali, a temporary lake formed upstream of Harsil, raising flood concerns. National Disaster Response Force, armed forces, and state agencies are working to manually drain the lake to prevent downstream flooding. Geologists have assessed the lake's stability, while road restoration remains stalled due to continuous rain and submerged roads.
