‘Normal life’ within reach: Mumbai doctor's global outreach brings Rs 1-crore US drug Trikafta to Indian kids; 40 cystic fibrosis patients to benefit

Fourty Indian children with cystic fibrosis are receiving free Trikafta. Wadia Hospital in Mumbai is distributing the US drug. The drug is unavailable in India due to patent laws. Vertex Pharmaceuticals is providing the medication on compassionate grounds. The initiative offers hope for a normal lifespan. CMC Vellore is also in talks to provide the drug.
