3 killed while cleaning sugar mill’s effluent treatment unit
Friday, 18 July 2025 () In a tragic incident at Uttam Sugar Mill in Bijnor's Barkatpur, three workers died while cleaning an effluent treatment plant. Supervisor Muneshwar Singh and two factory workers, Kapil Dev and Sopal Singh, succumbed to poisonous gases inside the tank. Another worker, Prabhat Kumar, was severely injured during a rescue attempt, prompting accusations of safety negligence against the factory management.
