Man held for murder in Australia in 2003 got passport only in 2016, discharged
Saturday, 14 June 2025 () Mohammed Basheeruddin, arrested in Delhi last month in connection with a 2003 murder in Redfern, Australia, has been discharged by a Delhi court due to mistaken identity. Forensic reports revealed that Basheeruddin's fingerprints did not match those of the actual murderer, Bashiruddin Mohd. His lawyer presented evidence that Basheeruddin had never traveled to Australia, further supporting his innocence.
