YouTuber Jasbir Singh sent to two-day police remand on charges of spying for Pakistan
Saturday, 7 June 2025 () YouTuber Jasbir Singh, accused of spying for Pakistan, was remanded to two-day police custody by a Mohali court. The Punjab Police's SSOC sought further remand to seize his laptop and investigate alleged links to a spy network involving YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra and a Pakistani official. Singh's lawyer claims he was falsely implicated after cooperating with the police.
The UN’s top human rights official, Volker Türk, has strongly condemned U.S. sanctions on four ICC judges as “deeply corrosive” to international justice. These judges, who ruled on cases involving alleged war crimes by U.S. forces in Afghanistan and arrest warrants against Israeli leaders, now face sanctions from the Biden administration. Türk warned that targeting international judges for executing their duties endangers the rule of law. The EU has backed the ICC, vowing to counter these sanctions and defend the court’s independence from political pressure.
