Sunday, 1 June 2025 () Abbas Ansari, son of Mukhtar Ansari, has been disqualified from the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly following his conviction in a 2022 hate speech case. The special MP-MLA court sentenced him to two years imprisonment, leading to the declaration of his Mau assembly constituency as vacant.
