Tuesday, 20 May 2025 () Following Pakistan's ceasefire violation on May 7-8, the Indian Army retaliated swiftly along the LoC, destroying multiple Pakistani forward posts within 10 minutes using MMGs. Operation Sindoor was launched after the Pahalgam terror attack. An Indian soldier reported heavy casualties inflicted and bunkers destroyed. Pakistan then targeted civilian areas and attempted drone strikes, which were also neutralised by India.
Days after a ceasefire agreement with India, Pakistan’s government has promoted Army Chief General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal—the second in the nation's history. The move follows Operation Sindoor and Pakistan’s war-time efforts led by Munir, who was praised for “high strategy and courage.” With this largely ceremonial yet politically powerful title, Munir further consolidates military influence over Pakistan’s civilian leadership. Backed by President Zardari and celebrated as a defender of the homeland, Munir dedicated his promotion to martyrs, veterans, and the nation.
