Schools, colleges to remain shut tomorrow in J-K's Baramulla, Kupwara, other regions amid escalations with Pakistan
Thursday, 8 May 2025 () Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, authorities on Thursday announced that educational institutes in Baramulla, Kupwara and those falling nearby the Srinagar and Awantipora airports shall continue to remain closed on Friday and Saturday.
After India launched 'measured, focused & non-escalatory' strikes on terror camps in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, Pakistan resorted to targetting civilians on the Indian side by opening indiscriminate firing and heavy shelling along the LoC in sectors like Poonch, Uri, Kupwara. At least 15 Indian civilians were killed and civilian infrastructure damaged in the cowardly attack by Pakistan. Watch this Ground Report.
