IndiGo ATR engines on Jaipur-Chandigarh flight flameout momentarily one after other in heavy rain, plane lands safely
Friday, 2 May 2025 () An IndiGo ATR aircraft experienced a rare dual engine flameout during a Jaipur to Chandigarh flight amidst heavy rain on Friday. Each engine momentarily failed before auto-ignition restored them. The plane landed safely in Chandigarh and is undergoing inspection. The DGCA has requested a report from the airline regarding the incident.
Civilians defence drills were carried out in several cities across India as tensions remain high with Pakistan. Sirens were sounded and blackouts observed in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Chandigarh, Shimla and others in a bid to prepare civilians for any possible threats in case a war breaks-out between India and Pakistan.
