At 14.6km, RVNL completes breakthrough of India’s longest railway tunnel in Uttarakhand

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited achieved a breakthrough in the 14.6km Devprayag-Janasu railway tunnel, India's longest, a key part of the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail project. Overcoming Himalayan geological challenges, engineers developed the Himalayan tunnelling method. This project aims to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and boost economic activity in Uttarakhand's remote areas.
