Delhi HC allows terror accused MP Engineer Rashid to attend Parliament proceedings
Wednesday, 26 March 2025 The Delhi high court has allowed J&K's Baramulla Lok Sabha MP Engineer Rashid, arrested in a 2017 terror-funding case, to attend the ongoing Parliament session in-custody. Rashid, who won as an Independent candidate, will return to jail after daily Parliament proceedings until April 4. Rashid has been in Tihar Jail since 2019 under charges involving Pakistan-based militants.

Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale has issued an unconditional public apology and agreed to pay ₹50 lakh in damages after falsely accusing ex-diplomat Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri of corruption. The Delhi High Court warned of civil detention if he failed to comply.
But Gokhale’s apology isn’t an isolated incident — it’s just another example in a long line of opposition leaders making defamatory claims, triggering outrage, and then quietly backtracking when confronted by the courts.
From Rahul Gandhi’s RSS allegations to the Rafale lie, from ‘khoon ki dalali’ to defaming NSA Ajit Doval’s son — the pattern is clear: slander first, apologise later.

In a dramatic and controversial trade move, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a major oil partnership with Pakistan just hours before slapping India with a harsh 25% tariff and an additional penalty. While praising Pakistan’s “massive oil reserves,” Trump hinted that the oil might one day be sold to India—ironically, after penalising New Delhi for its trade practices and energy ties with Russia. Trump accused India of having “obnoxious trade barriers” and being the “largest buyer of Russian energy,” saying these actions were “not good” while Russia continues its war in Ukraine. The stark contrast between Trump rewarding Pakistan and punishing India—one of the U.S.'s strategic partners—has raised eyebrows globally. Critics say Trump is punishing allies and appeasing others for transactional gain, even at the cost of long-term diplomatic trust.
